Weight Loss – a New You!

January and the New Year is so often a time of ‘re’s.  Rethinking things, recovery from the activities of the holiday, reckoning up taxes, renewing good intentions – and of course the famous resolutions.

This New Year, I want to encourage you that humans are built for renewal, and that new beginnings are already on their way.

Just think how renewal is built into our everyday experience. Our skin and bones respond to injury by creating new tissue; when set correctly, our wounds seal up and limbs restrengthen. Given the right support, damaged intestines can recover and free us of allergies and other autoimmune conditions.   Every day, our immune systems fight off countless infections and diseases without our even knowing it.  Even Christmas arguments – with a hearty dose of forgiveness – can be transformed into reconciliation and happier relationships!

The pattern seems to be: offer even a little support and healing attention to the affected area, and watch as new life appears.

For lots of people, New Year is a time of thinking again about renewing through weight loss.  Perhaps it’s even become a sort of January tradition.

Weight loss – a new perspective for me (Metabolic Balance)

This year, I thought it was time to offer a new angle on the weight loss theme!

metabolic-balance-apply-meterI recently trained as what’s called a ‘Metabolic Balance Coach’.  This means I can help you lose weight using a lab test and an eating programme totally made-to-measure for you.  The very simple lab assessment reveals your unique mix of homones and metabolism, or your ‘biochemical individuality’.  The lab evidence is then used to calculate the exact foods and lifestyle habits that will give you the most effective and long-lasting weight loss.  Metabolic Balance can also help with a host of other difficulties, which you’ll see on my Metabolic Balance.

Metabolic Balance is a well-established system, founded by a European doctor and a food technology engineer, which Nutritional Therapists like me can sign up to join. This means that I too receive support and advice, about how best to support my clients.

The great thing about Metabolic Balance is that there are no supplements or ‘meal replacements’ to worry about; you just follow your tailor-made diet plan using ordinary foods, from ordinary shops or the supermarket.

The Metabolic Balance Plan

There are four phases to the plan:

1. A two-day initial ‘detox’ to kick things off

2. A strict phase of two weeks – during which you receive lots of coaching support

3. A more relaxed phase, when I help you to add more foods back into your diet

4. A ‘maintenance’ phase, which sees you settle into a really do-able, healthier lifestyle – for good!

One of the advantages of this plan is that the ‘difficult bit’ lasts only 16 days; another is that you receive solid support throughout; yet another advantage, is that you know that the effort you’re making will definitely and uniquely suit you.  This is important for Nutritional Therapists like me, who believe that working with ‘biochemical individuality‘ is essential for helping people regain health.

For more information on Metabolic Balance, and to decide if it might be for you, see my full webpage on the subject.

Whether or not you decide to look into weight loss in January, I trust that this month, and this year, you will be encouraged that renewal is already working for you.  And – perhaps one of the best of all ‘re’ words – I hope that you’ll receive newness and health, in all the aspects of life that you hope for them.
