Detoxification

Detoxification

Detoxification is not just about removing toxins and harmful foods from our diet, it also includes our the environment we live in, the water we drink, the air we breathe, the clothes we wear and what we put in our body.

When people think of detoxification, they generally think of doing a quick liver cleanse and hope that it will sort out all their problems in one day. Unfortunately, there is no one-day fix! Since toxins come at us from so many directions, it makes sense that detoxification also takes many forms.

Approach for deep detox

My experience and much research points to the need to reduce or eliminate toxins that are building up from our environment, our diet, and our lifestyle before we reach for the liver cleanse.

That is, we need to ‘turn off the tap first’. If you can imagine a sink full of dirty water that is clogging up the drain, the first thing you would want to do it to unclog the drain with a plunger or a chemical treatment. However, what is the use of that when the tap is pouring out even more dirty water?

Or, imagine a motorway with five lanes of cars all converging at a toll gate and causing a massive traffic jam. It is not enough to just open more toll gates and get the cars out faster. You also need to reduce the flow of cars from the lanes leaning into the toll gates.

Hopefully these illustrations show how important it is to do work on the ingoing toxins before you start your liver cleanses!

What to expect from a detox series

Wisdom teaches us to be methodical. This series is designed to be a practical, step-by-step guide to covering all aspects of detoxification. Included are links to laboratory tests and blood analysis that help give biofeedback and tips and insights about forming healthy habits and productive routines taken from my experience as a life coach.

I recommend spending a month on each session so that you make some significant changes across a number of areas. It often takes time to assess, formulate and implement these changes. We all have busy lives and this shouldn’t take over your life! You don’t need to do everything all at once. In fact, I encourage you to move slowly and make meaningful, sustainable changes that will last.

Above all, this should be a journey of discovery and inspiration. You should find yourself making changes that really benefit your life and health. It should not be stressful, because as you probably know, stress is a major toxin! The last thing you want is for detoxification to be stressful.

Ideally, by the end of the course you will have made a solid start on a personalised detoxification journey with life-changing results.
