Stewed Apple and Natural Yoghurt

Stewed Apple with Natural Yoghurt

Serves 6

3 Bramley cooking apples

¼ cup water

¼ cup raisins/sultanas (for added sweetness and fibre)

1 tsp cinnamon

40g (2oz) xylitol (or to taste)

Natural Yoghurt

Method

  1. Peel and core the apples and chop them into small pieces
  2. Put all the ingredients in a covered, heavy-bottomed pan and cook for about 15 minutes, stirring regularly.  Cook until soft with rough shapes no longer identifiable.  The colour should be russet brown with the cinnamon effect
  3. These may be eaten warm or cold at this stage
  4. Place 1 to 2 tablespoons of the cold apple into a wine glass.  Top with 1 to 2 tablespoon of natural yoghurt.
