6 week Nutritional Cookery Course
End of first 6 week Cookery Course
I have completed my first 6 week nutritional cookery course. It was wonderful to be able to share my passion for healthy delicious food and my knowledge of nutritional therapy with a group of people thirsty to learn. The group really bonded with each other and didn’t feel complete when someone was missing!
I have been thrilled with the feedback that I have received. One person wrote, “I loved the nutrition information alongside the demonstrations and it was wonderful to see how versatile the vegetables can be”.
Another person wrote, “Thank you Emma for your passion about food, you have the skill to inspire. Your tireless energy is a testimony to the food you eat.”
Riverford kindly delivered a seasonal box of vegetables to me on the Monday and, for me, it felt like “ready-steady-cook” as I looked at the vegetables and decided what to do. I was greatly inspired by Ottolenghi and Rose Elliot although I adapted or made up most of the recipes myself.
My aim was to buy most of the additional ingredients from Sainsbury’s to save people having to hunt around health food shops for unusual ingredients. I also tried to keep cost to a minimum. At the beginning of the course, as I built up my store cupboard, I was spending approximately £60.00 in addition to the vegetable box (6 dishes feeding 12 people). By the end of the course I was spending approximately £30.00 in addition to the vegetable box. I thought this was very good value, don’t you? On top of receiving recipes, people also received my shopping list.
I hope this will inspire you to do a course for yourself. I will be running taster days so please will you email me at nutrition@emmamaitland-carew.co.uk if you or your friends would like to come to one.
